Pregnancy & Postpartum Care

Our bodies undergo constant change during and after pregnancy. Hormonal influences, postural changes, changes at the abdominal wall and the pelvic girdle can lead to pain and some common challenges. While pain and leakage may be common problems during and following pregnancy, they are not problems you simply have to live with!

OUR EXPERT PELVIC HEALTH THERAPIST ARE HERE FOR YOU

Optimizing pelvic floor function can help ease pain, allow you to move with more comfort, prepare your body for birthing, and for the many changes that will follow. Working with providers with advanced, specialized training in peri/postnatal health is important and we are here to help!

Pregnancy Is A Transformative Experience That Impacts The Entire Body.

Pregnancy can have a significant impact on the abdominal wall, pelvis and the rest of the body. We treat pregnant individuals experiencing symptoms like pelvic girdle pain, low back and SI pain, pubic joint pain, and other common difficulties. While these problems happen frequently, they are often very easily treatable. We also help people build healthy exercise patterns during pregnancy, optimize their pelvic floor function, and learn strategies to prepare for birth.

Pregnancy Considerations:

  • Abdominal binders, SIJ belts, other supports
  • Pain management strategies
  • Sleep optimization
  • Posture and breathing techniques
  • Safe exercise during pregnancy
  • Birth preparation

Therapies we may use to support optimal health during your pregnancy:

Improving strength and mobility around the low back and pelvis
Optimizing abdominal wall and deep core muscle function to reduce diastasis rectus abdominis and other musculoskeletal challenges
Improving pelvic floor muscle mobility and flexibility to reduce tearing with vaginal birth
Optimize pelvic floor muscle, health, function, and mobility in preparation for birth
Strategies for breathing and pelvic floor lengthening to promote optimal labor and birth
s-EMG biofeedback of pelvic floor muscles and various labor positions to determine what is optimal for you during delivery
